The Uganda Electoral commission finally gazetted the results from Kawempe North MP by election that went down on 13, March 2024 where Counsel Eria Nalukoola was declared victor after beating NRM's Faridah Nambi hands down.
This followed after the National Unity Platform secreatry general David Lewis Rubongoya, Nalukoola Erias himself and other party executives stormed the Electoral Commission to ask why the Kawempe MP elect hasnt been gazetted and eventually ther efforts paid off.
The Electoral commission confirmed Erias Nalukoola as the new Kawempe North MP elect and this paved way for his swearing in.
''Notice is hereby given by Electoral Commission that the results for the Parliamentary by-electio for the Directly Member of Parliament, Kawempe Division North, Kampala Capital City in the Schedule to this Notice is hereby published in accordance with Section 78(1) of the Parliamentary Elections Act, Cap.177,'' reads the Gazette notice dated March 20, 2025 and signed by the EC chairperson, Justice Simon Byabakama.
