Makerere University Opens 2025/26 Online Applications for Private Undergraduate Admissions

Makerere University has officially announced the commencement of its online application window for undergraduate private admissions for the 2025/2026 academic year. The application period runs from April 16th to May 20th, 2025, according to a notice released by the Office of the Minister of Academic Affairs.
In the statement issued on April 16th, Mr. Kiganda Julius, the 91st Minister of Academic Affairs, emphasized that all applications must be submitted through the university's digital admissions platform.
"I’m glad to announce that the application portal is now open for all prospective undergraduate private students. The process will be entirely online and is available from Wednesday, April 16th, until May 20th, 2025," Mr. Kiganda stated.
Interested applicants are required to visit the official admissions site at https://apply.mak.ac.ug to begin the submission process.
As part of the eligibility criteria, applicants must have secured at least two principal passes in their UACE (Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education) examinations. The university also issued a stern warning regarding the integrity of submitted documents. Any attempt to present forged academic credentials will lead to immediate cancellation of the application, and if already admitted, the revocation of admission and any awards earned. Legal action will also be pursued.
“Forgery is a criminal offense, and Makerere University maintains a zero-tolerance policy. Offenders will face prosecution,” the notice firmly states.
For additional information or support, applicants are encouraged to contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office, located on the third floor of the Senate Building at Makerere University. Alternatively, details can be accessed via the university's main website at https://www.mak.ac.ug
