MC Kats Fires Back at Sheilah Gashumba, Challenges Her to Reveal Her Real Job
Television personality and events host Edwin Katamba, popularly known as MC Kats, has thrown down the gauntlet to socialite Sheilah Carol Gashumba, demanding she come clean about her official source of income.
The outspoken After5 host made the bold statement during a TikTok live session with content creator Senga Acid, in response to Sheilah’s recent remarks suggesting Kats should leave TV presenting and start his own independent show.
“I challenge Sheilah to publicly tell Ugandans what her real job is,” Kats stated firmly, expressing deep concern over the kind of influence Sheilah has on the youth, especially Gen Z followers who admire her flashy lifestyle showcased online.

Kats didn’t hold back, accusing Sheilah of glamorizing nightlife and encouraging young girls to chase luxury through dubious means.
“She’s created this illusion that partying every night and hoping to land a rich man is a career path,” he said, visibly frustrated.
He went further to contrast Sheilah’s generation of influencers with earlier socialites like Zari Hassan, Bad Black, and Judith Heard, claiming that despite controversies, at least their income sources were somewhat known.
“Today’s role models are telling young girls lies—lies that lead nowhere,” Kats added.
MC Kats, who has spent years in Uganda’s media space, warned that social media fame without purpose or accountability is damaging to the nation’s youth. “These girls think success is sipping cocktails in lounges every day, dressing up for Instagram, and waiting for a miracle.”
Sheilah Gashumba, on the other hand, has in the past defended her choices, saying she left mainstream media due to low pay and the unrealistic image expected of TV presenters. She’s previously claimed that many TV hosts live beyond their means and rely on borrowed clothes just to keep up appearances.
