Mezo Noir, a high-end nightclub in the upscale Kololo suburb of Kampala is gearing up to reopen its doors after a temporary closure prompted by the tragic death of 23-year-old Martha Ahumuza Murari last month.
The incident, which has gripped the city’s nightlife community, led to an abrupt shutdown and an ongoing police investigation, with no official reopening date yet announced by the bar’s management.
Martha reportedly collapsed inside the venue under mysterious circumstances. Sources indicate she had been drinking with Edward Mugabo, a cashier at Mezo Noir, before moving to the manager’s office a space lacking CCTV coverage where she suddenly fell unconscious and later died after being taken to hospital.
Mezo Noir’s management issued a statement citing immediate suspension of operations and promising to notify patrons of a reopening once conditions allowed.
The bar has today announced that it will be reopening however the dates havent been disclosed.
