American rapper Sean Combs’ lawyer has bailed out of the rapper’s case a few months to his sex trafficking trial.
The lawyer, Anthony Ricco, filed a motion stating that he could not continue to serve effectively as counsel for the case.
While Ricco did not specify the reason behind stepping down from the game, he stated that there are sufficient reasons that he would not disclose due to client-attorney privilege.

“While I am aware that the Local Rule requires that an application for withdrawal of counsel is supported and granted ‘only upon a showing by affidavit or otherwise of satisfactory reasons for withdrawal, there are sufficient reasons (related to the protections afforded by the attorney/client privilege) for brevity in my application for withdrawal as counsel in this case,” stated Ricco.
In 2024, Sean was accused of kidnapping, drugging, and coercing women into sexual activities. He is currently facing sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
They also discovered more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil. In September 2024, Diddy denied the charges.
One of the charges was dropped in February 2025, whereby Combs was accused alongside his rap counterpart Jay-Z of rape in 2000. The charges were dropped following a withdrawal of the case by the accuser. The two had denied the charges.
He is currently in jail awaiting trial that is set for May 2025. He was arrested on September 16, 2024.
