Sheilah Gashumba Hits Back at Prostitution Allegations Sparked by MC Kats

Media personality and influencer Sheilah Gashumba has fired back at recent allegations questioning her source of income, particularly claims suggesting she engages in prostitution, rumors she believes are rooted in male insecurity.

Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) account, Sheilah addressed the backlash head-on, offering encouragement to ambitious young women who, like her, may face baseless accusations as they climb the ladder of success. She explained that some men resort to labeling successful women as sex workers as a way of masking their own insecurities, laziness, and lack of ambition.

Sheilah’s comments came in the wake of a brewing online feud with fellow media personality MC Kats, a former colleague.

The tension between the two later escalated after Sheilah, during an interview with Kasuku, called on MC Kats to step aside from TV to create space for younger talent. She used the opportunity to explain her own decision to leave television, citing poor pay as one of the main reasons.

Her remarks didn’t sit well with MC Kats, who retaliated by publicly questioning Sheilah’s financial stability. He insinuated that her glamorous lifestyle was not supported by her known sources of income and went as far as suggesting she was using her nightlife gigs as a cover to mingle with wealthy men.

“Let her show her real source of income,” MC Kats challenged, implying that Sheilah’s influence might be misleading to young girls who admire her.

In response, Sheilah chose to take the high road, advising young women to stay focused on their goals and ignore those who attempt to discredit their efforts.

“Keep chasing your dreams. Don’t let insecure people project their fears onto you,” she said.
