Sheilah Gashumba, a well-known figure in Uganda’s entertainment industry, has finally shed light on why she stepped away from her regular television duties.
In a candid conversation with media personality Kasuku, Sheilah shared that her exit from NBS After 5 was largely due to differences in creative direction and her ambition to leave a more meaningful mark in the industry. According to her, she and her co-hosts—MC Kats, Douglas Lwanga, DJ Roja, and DVJ Mercy Pro—did not always see eye-to-eye when it came to the type of music and content the show should deliver.

In addition to creative disagreements, Sheilah pointed out that her increasingly busy lifestyle also played a role. With several business ventures and frequent travel commitments, she found it difficult to keep up with the demanding schedule of a daily TV show.
“I have a lot on my plate, from business engagements to traveling. My schedule has to make sense,” she explained.
Sheilah’s media journey has taken her from NTV’s The Beat to NBS After 5, and now to NRG Radio. Her career path reflects her ability to adapt and grow in an ever-changing industry. Her decision to move away from television highlights the value of staying true to one’s personal and professional goals, even when it means taking a different path.
