Eddie Mutwe, a close aide and comrade of Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine, has reportedly been violently abducted from Kiwango village in Mukono District, according to a statement released by Bobi Wine on social media.
The incident, which occurred earlier today involved armed men dressed in SFC (Special Forces Command) uniforms, who allegedly forced Mutwe into a Toyota van.
Eddie Mutwe has long been a key figure within Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP) and has previously faced arrests, harassment, and threats linked to his political activism.
As of now, there has been no official comment from Ugandan security forces regarding Mutwe’s whereabouts or the reasons for his abduction. Concerns are mounting for his safety, and calls for his immediate release are growing louder from human rights organizations and political allies.
