Nyamufumura Village is brimming with excitement after a truly jaw-dropping event, 40-year old Glorious Betonde given birth to six babies at once, a first in the village's history.
Six tiny bundles of joy were delivered in a single birth, leaving both medical staff and locals in absolute awe. The rare sextuplet delivery, which included five boys and one girl, took place via C-section at Neo Care Fertility Centre in Mbarara City after just seven months of pregnancy.
Currently, the newborns are being closely monitored and cared for at Holy Innocents Children’s Hospital. Despite being premature, these little fighters are showing incredible strength.
According to Glorious, complications began as early as the third month. and by the seventh month, doctors made the critical call to perform an early delivery to protect both mother and babies.
Meanwhile, Glorious’ husband, 30-year-old teacher Vincent Tumwesigye, is still in disbelief over the turn of events.
“I thought things like this only happened in movies or abroad. But it’s real and it’s happening right here in Sheema,” he said.
