Ariho Lucky Elected Guild President of Mbarara University of Science and Technology

In a highly anticipated and energetically contested election, Ariho Lucky Rwabuturumba has emerged as the newly elected Guild President of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). His victory marks a significant moment for student leadership at the university, as he takes the helm with a clear mandate from the student body.

The electoral process, although marked by a few concerns over procedural irregularities, was characterized by an impressive voter turnout. Students across all faculties and academic years showed up in large numbers, demonstrating a renewed commitment to shaping the future of student governance. The energy on campus was palpable, reflecting the importance of the election and the desire for transformative leadership.

Running under the banner of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Ariho captivated the student electorate with his compelling vision for change, inclusive policies, and passionate advocacy for student welfare. His campaign focused on key issues affecting students, including academic support, improved campus facilities, mental health awareness, and greater transparency in student affairs.

Throughout his campaign, Ariho earned a reputation for being approachable, action-oriented, and deeply connected to the everyday concerns of his fellow students. His grassroots approach, combined with a message of hope and progress, clearly resonated with the majority

Ariho is expected to officially assume office following a formal swearing-in ceremony scheduled to take place in the coming weeks. His tenure begins with a strong foundation of student support and a legacy of impactful student governance to build upon.

As he prepares to take office, the entire MUST community watches with anticipation, hopeful that his presidency will bring meaningful and lasting change to the university experience.
